While GSC Game World has been very active in providing post-release support for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, the studio has plans that extend beyond adding quality-of-life features and bug fixes.
It appears that GSC Game World already has two expansions in development, although they do not seem likely to be released anytime soon.
Even if no formal announcement has been made by GSC Game World, the confirmation comes from a developer, so this is not a rumor, but an actual fact.
STALKER 2 Has Two DLCs In Development
The confirmation comes from GSC Game World Technical Producer Yevhenii Kulyk in an interview with Danish publication Arkaden.
In the chat, Kulyk said (via Zelenobot), "It's safe to say that we plan to release DLC for STALKER 2, just like we did with the original trilogy. The base game and then two DLCs. It's actually included in the Ultimate Edition of the game. If you buy it, you get the DLCS, which are focused on being story-driven. I think we'll be ready to share something new about that in the near future, the two DLCs are already in development."
Aside from that, there's no other info. We don't know when these will be released. Perhaps we'll get an announcement about it before the year is done?
In terms of what's on the way for the game, GSC Game World announced the PS5 version is headed out this November, and will even include PS5 Pro enhancements.
Not only do the developers have that port to focus on, but they also announced that new features are on the way as part of the game's updated roadmap.
While STALKER 2 might not have impressed shooter fans due to the technical issues it suffered from at launch, it has since been updated significantly enough that past issues may no longer be an issue.
Once we know more about expansions, we'll be sure to let you know.
